Partner with Us

Teleioteti relies on partnership to see its vision accomplished. We do what we do through the prayers, talents, and the financial support of our partners.

Teleioteti is committed to faithful, thoughtful ministry. Specifically, we provide resources for Christian discipleship. It is our vision to see Christ’s Church mature in its understanding of God and His Word. To fulfill this vision, we need partners. Choosing to partner with Teleioteti could take several different forms.

What Does Partnership with Teleioteti look like?

Partner with us indirectly

Partnering with us in our vision will look different for everyone, but broadly there are two major ways to partner with us. The first is indirectly. We hope that every reader would learn from and use our resources to live faithfully and thoughtfully for God in this world. Our vision is to see the church built up towards maturity. Partner with us, first, by using our resources to see this happen in the local church.

Partner with us directly

The second way to partner with us is directly. To do what we do, we need at least three things: we need prayer support, resources, and financial support.

Pray

Nothing happens in the Kingdom of God without prayer. Prayer is the means by which God achieves His purposes in this world. For this reason, we need prayer support to accomplish our goals. Pray for wisdom as we write resources for the Church and seek to use the gifts God has entrusted to us to build up His people. Pray also for protection. Whenever God is at work there will be opposition.

Christians are caught up in a war between the Kingdom of God and the kingdom of Satan. There is bound to be warfare as we seek to expand God’s kingdom in hostile territory. Pray that the Lord would guard us from sin, which has brought down many ministers in His kingdom, and would give us perseverance to endure all the trials that befall such an endeavour as ours.

Write

One of the chief ways our vision will be accomplished is through the creation of faithful and thoughtful resources for the people of God. All the resources on Teleioteti as of August 2018 are written by me (J. Alexander Rutherford), but it is my hope that others would partner with me to provide resources in line with our vision.

There are several features that characterize our resources. Resources for Teleioteti will be well written, clear, insightful, biblical, and well argued. They will also fit the profile of our posts, articles, papers, or book reviews (we are not accepting books at this time).

A contribution will be well written and clear: it is written to serve the one who reads it, and so is clear in its grammar, progression, and the point(s) it is making. We recommend—even for a short post—to plan an outline and have a thesis idea in mind before you write.

A contribution will be insightful, biblical, and well argued: it says something new or something old in a new or helpful way. A contribution to teleioteti is not a piece that helps you think through an issue but one that will help others think it through. A contribution should be grounded clearly in the word of God and display cogent reasoning to make its point.

A contribution should fit the profile of our posts, articles, papers, or book reviews. Teleioteti offers many different types of resources; a contribution should be tailored to the profile of one of these resource types. Posts are generally aimed at a popular level (they are non-technical) and quite short (400 or less words) (e.g., The Grace of God in Samuel). Articles are a bit more technical, written for the more theologically inclined Christian, the student, or the pastor (they are semi-technical) and of a medium length (1000 or less words) (e.g., The Irrationalism of Rational Thought). Papers are our most technical offerings and may delve into the biblical languages and deeper theological or philosophical matters (they are technical), yet the aim here should still be accessibility for a broad audience. Papers are generally over a 1000 words (e.g., I Will Make Them Like the Calf). Book reviews, whether a traditional book review or a more focused critique or response, should interact with contemporary or relevant literature in a way that promotes what is biblical and helpful for God’s people or cautions against and questions what maybe less than helpful or even harmful for God’s people. (Objectivity is not a goal of Teleioteti; faithfulness to God as He has revealed himself in the Bible is.)

Works will be evaluated for acceptance along the lines of the above criteria. A certain amount of personal discretion will necessarily be expressed by the editor(s), but a key question will be “is this cleary shown from the Bible?” Works that are overly speculative will be rejected.

If you would like to contribute a piece for consideration, please email contributions@teleioteti.ca with an edited final draft of your contribution along with a brief bio describing who you are, how God has been and is working in you, what church you are a part of and how you serve there. Include in the subject heading the resource type and title of the piece (along with the book under consideration for reviews), e.g. “Book Review: Biblical Theology by Nick Roark and Robert Cline.”

Give

The basic costs of running Teleioteti are rather low, thankfully, only about $100 a year. We also periodically have costs associated with producing books and advertisting. The most significant cost of running Teleioteti is time. The limited income made through book sales and affiliate programs is insufficient to cover the costs of maintaining Teleioteti, this means that the work I put into Teleioteti is done in my spare time. I work about 35 hours a week and then another 15 or so doing site design and writing for Teleioeteti. It is my prayer that God would provide a way for me to run Teleioteti as a full time job, that I could write, teach, and disciple to make an income. If you desire to support Teleioteti financially, all proceeds will go to paying the costs of operating Teleioteti and then to helping me do this as a job, freeing up my time to write and serve more than I am able to do now. (In the unlikely case of an overabundance of support, the excess would be given to the ministry of Christ City Church Kitsilano.) If you would like to know more about supporting us financially, email us at info@teleioteti.ca.

We look forward to partnering with you,

Soli Deo Gloria
